Charges have officially been filed against the alleged mastermind behind the tragic drive-by shooting that took place in Midtown back in May. The incident occurred on the evening of May 18 on Olive Street, near Harris-Stowe State University.

The suspected driver, Kendrick M. Bobo, was behind the wheel with three passengers when they pulled up next to another vehicle and opened fire. The driver of the second car was unharmed, but the front seat passenger was shot in the leg, and the backseat passenger, Eddie Randle Jr., tragically lost his life at just 19 years old.

After the shooting, Bobo crashed into another vehicle, injuring the driver, and then fled the scene on foot along with the three other occupants. Two brothers, Jordan D. Huddlen and Kevin Huddlen, were later arrested in connection to the crime.

Jordan Huddlen was charged with first-degree murder, unlawful use of a weapon, tampering with physical evidence, assault, and armed criminal action. Kevin Huddlen, who was on supervised release for a federal drug conviction at the time, was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, tampering with evidence, and hindering prosecution.

Bobo admitted to driving the vehicle during the shooting, and other individuals have pointed to him as the mastermind behind the attack. As a result, he has been charged with first-degree murder, assault, and armed criminal action.

This senseless act of violence has left a community in mourning and serves as a stark reminder of the importance of addressing the root causes of crime in our city. It is crucial that we come together as a community to support one another and work towards creating a safer environment for all residents.

In the wake of this tragedy, it is essential that we not only hold those responsible accountable but also take steps to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future. By addressing issues such as gun violence, drug-related crimes, and lack of opportunities for young people, we can begin to create a brighter and more secure future for all members of our community.
