Travis Kelce Explains Why He Rejected Netflix Show ‘Receiver’

Netflix had a successful show last summer called “Quarterback,” which gave viewers an inside look at the NFL’s top quarterbacks and their experiences during the 2022 season. This year, Netflix announced a new project called “Receiver,” focusing on star receivers like Justin Jefferson, Deebo Samuel, George Kittle, Davante Adams, and Amon-Ra St. Brown.

One notable absence from the “Receiver” project is Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce. Despite his fame and popularity, Kelce decided not to participate in the show. In an interview on “Bussin’ with the Boys,” Kelce explained his decision, stating that he preferred to focus on playing football rather than getting involved in reality TV. He mentioned that he was already busy with his podcast and other projects, and he was not interested in taking on more reality show commitments.

Although Kelce had previously done a reality TV dating show called “Catching Kelce,” he indicated that he was trying to distance himself from that type of content. He admired how his brother, Jason Kelce, approached his Amazon documentary about his football career but felt that reality TV was not the right fit for him at this time.

In addition to his podcast with his brother, Kelce is also set to host a show called “Are You Smarter than a Celebrity?” on Amazon. Despite his decision to steer clear of the “Receiver” project, Kelce continues to stay busy with various endeavors outside of football.

It seems that Kelce’s focus remains on his career on the field and his other projects off the field. While fans may have been curious to see him on the upcoming Netflix show, Kelce has made it clear that he prefers to keep his attention on his current commitments.
