For Marc Márquez, second place in the Spanish GP race after a tough fight with Pecco Bagnaia was not just another result in his long career. The Cervera rider, aware of the step forward he has taken in his adaptation to the Ducati, celebrated his first Sunday podium with Ducati with a fun dance on the podium.
The podium ceremony at the Ángel Nieto circuit in Jerez was entertained, in an unprecedented way, by the Italian DJ Indira Paganotto.
The drivers who finished in positions of honor, the winner Pecco Bagnaia, Marco Bezzecchi and Marc Márquez, did not hesitate to join the party dancing to the rhythm of the Italian DJ’s music.
“I had a not very good start to the World Championship, but we’re not that far away either. It’s about to fall. The weekend has been very complete, I’ve had a great time. I think I’ve been the driver who has added the most this weekend “said Márquez, who leaves Jerez with 24 more points in his bag (one less than Bagnaia, who added 25 for the victory).
With 6th place in the Sprint on Saturday and 20th in the long race on Sunday, Marc Márquez climbs two positions in the overall standings of the World Championship. He is now 6th, 32 points behind the leader, Jorge Martín.
