The Women's Race aspires to gather 35,000 participants in Madrid

The Madrid Women’s Race, which will be held on May 7, aims to bring together 35,000 participants in the Spanish capital, in what would be one of the largest women’s sporting events in Europe.

The Madrid test, with just over seven kilometers long, is the third of the national circuit of the Women’s Race, which began in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria on March 12 and will make its second stop in Valencia on March 23. April.

The organization has 35,000 bib numbers available for the Madrid race with the aim of becoming one of the events with the highest participation. In 2019, before the pandemic, 36,000 people attended the event.

At the end of the year, the organization will make a final contribution of the circuit to the Spanish Association Against Cancer of 75,000 euros. As a novelty this year, when registering, there is also the option of directly donating the extra amount you want and continuing to financially support three foundations focused on protecting women in different fields: Wanawake Mujer, Fundación GEICAM and Clara Campoamor.

In addition, in Madrid the organization gives the possibility of acquiring up to 100 100% solidarity bibs in favor of the Sandra Ibarra Foundation.

In this edition, within the SolidariAs project, the El Hogar de las niñas Association will be presented, whose main project is to provide more than 250 tribal girls living in extreme poverty with a future of freedom through education, removing them from the risks of exploitation and early marriage.

The Women’s Race also helps to make visible the fight against gender violence. All participants will wear the same bib number, 016, the telephone service number for victims of gender violence, which does not leave any trace on the telephone bill.
