The Madrid marathon, which will bring together 40,000 runners from one hundred countries on the 28th, will have 30 entertainment spots and 17 music bands to liven up the race.
This year, 40,000 runners are expected to participate, compared to 34,000 last year, in the three distances organized for the sporting event: 42 kilometers (marathon), 21 kilometers (half marathon) and a 10-kilometer race.
The route continues through the most touristic places in the city, starting in the Plaza de Gregorio Marañón and then crossing the Paseo de la Castellana, the Plaza de España, the Plaza de Callao or the Puerta del Sol, among other places. ending at the Recoletos promenade.

The acting mayor of Madrid, Inma Sanz, has closed the launch of the 46th edition of the Zurich Rock and Roll Running Series Madrid, held this Wednesday at the Caja de Música Auditorium of CentroCentro, the cultural center located in the Palacio de Cybele.
Sanz thanked the 40,000 people registered for the three races and, especially, “the eleven thousand brave people who signed up for the marathon, because all the runners know that there are many easier marathons than the one in Madrid, without so many unevennesses, But what is certain is that there is no more beautiful marathon than the one in our city.”
