The Los Angeles Lakers returned to their old ways and fell this Friday at home against the Brooklyn Nets (112-130), who recovered after a streak of four consecutive losses and nine in their last ten games.

After adding two valuable wins against the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Dallas Mavericks, the Lakers paid with defeat for a very negative third period, in which they were outscored 38-22 by the Nets. The Angelenos had a twelve-point advantage in the second period (61-49).

The Los Angeles team came to this event after winning four of their previous six games, a good moment with which they tried to turn the page after the downturn experienced after winning the NBA Cup in Las Vegas last month. But they fell to a Nets hungry for victories, who arrived in Los Angeles shaken after suffering two tough defeats against the Portland Trail Blazers and the Miami Heat, by two and one point, respectively.

The Nets’ victory in Los Angeles ends a streak of six consecutive road losses. Cam Thomas was the protagonist of the victory with 33 points (13 of 18 shooting), supported by Nic Claxton’s 22 points and 13 rebounds.

For the Lakers, Anthony Davis had 26 points, twelve rebounds and seven assists. LeBron James scored 24 points, with eleven rebounds and five assists. He only scored eight points in the second half.

With this defeat, the Lakers once again had a negative balance (21-22). The Nets increased their record to 17-24.
