The court annuls Gavi's registration with the Barça first team

Barça may have to register Gavi with the subsidiary file after Barcelona Commercial Court number 10 has dismissed the urgent precautionary measures presented by the club on January 31. With this, the judge agrees with the League and cancels the player’s registration in the first team, as Mundo Deportivo has advanced and La Vanguardia has been able to confirm.

In a letter, the employer claims to have received “notification from Barcelona commercial court no. deadlines established for the presentation of the main claim”.

As Barça assures La Vanguardia, the appeal with the precautionary measures as a matter of urgency was not filed after the deadline. In addition, the club argues that it is a decision of the lawyer of the administration of justice and not of the judge, so it is not a final sentence. The club defends that it is not possible to speak of “lifting of precautionary measures” until the decision is not final.

On January 31, the ruling of Barcelona’s commercial court number 10 forced LaLiga to register the player despite the fact that the employers defended the contrary, arguing that Barça would have a deficit of 200 million euros next season, which breaches the ‘fair play’ rules.

FC Barcelona then managed to find a legal loophole for the footballer’s registration before the winter window closed, even though this went against the budgeting control rules approved by the Delegate Commission and the LaLiga General Assembly in November past.

However, that judge’s ruling was appealable by LaLiga. The new resolution would annul the precautionary measures by which the player could play with the first team card, so the player will have to be registered with the subsidiary card.
