This Friday, September 29, two events will coincide in Montjuc in which a large influx of public is expected. On the one hand, the football League match between Barça and Sevilla, which will be played at the Lluís Companys Olympic Stadium and, on the other, Joaquín Sabina’s concert, at the Palau Sant Jordi. Both events will take place at 9:00 p.m. and their coincidence will have significant effects on mobility in this area of ??the city, as reported by Barcelona City Council.

To respond to the different movements that will occur in this area and cover all mobility needs, Barcelona City Council, FC Barcelona, ??the Urban Police and BSM maintain the mobility plan agreed with the club to facilitate movement of Barça fans to the Olympic Stadium.

The measures to facilitate arrival at the Olympic Ring contemplated in the plan will also be extended to spectators of the Joaquín Sabina concert.

As is usual during match days, from 4:00 p.m. the device will begin to restrict access by private vehicle to a large part of Montjuic Park. At the points closest to the Olympic Stadium, vehicles will not be able to circulate and in the areas around the Olympic Ring, accreditation will be required to gain access.

The main recommendation for this Friday is that of all the days when Barça plays at home: that spectators who have to attend either of the two events should travel primarily on foot, by public transport or by bicycle.

One of the main options to get to the Olympic Ring quickly and smoothly will be on foot from Plaza de Espanya. The main itinerary will be along Maria Cristina Avenue. In order to facilitate access, the escalators will be in operation in a reversible manner, both for the going (all will provide service in the up direction) and for the return (all will provide service in the down direction).

It will also be possible to arrive on foot through Foc Street or along Miramar Avenue, if you have used the funicular to access the Olympic Mountain.

Public transport will also be one of the recommended options to get around Montjuïc this Friday. There will be a free shuttle bus service for ticket holders to attend the game or concert. The device has two shuttle bus services that will leave from Maria Cristina and from the Fira 2 parking lot and will connect with the stadium area. The service will begin two hours before the start of the match and will end one and a half hours after the end.

Apart from the free shuttle bus service, bus line 150 will also be reinforced to go up to the Palau Sant Jordi or the Olympic Stadium, from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

At the end of the concert, TMB will enable a special bus service down to Plaza de Espanya and Fira 2 starting at 10:30 p.m.

Other regular TMB bus lines that reach areas near the Olympic Stadium are 13, 23, 55 and 125.

The Montjuïc funicular will also be one of the main forms of access. It will increase passing frequencies, two hours before and during the two hours after the end of the match.

In addition, metro or FGC services are reinforced to reach mountain environments: Espanya (L1, L3, L8 and other FGC lines); Poble Sec (L3); Parallel (L2, L3); Magòria – La Campana (L8 and other FGC lines). Specifically, there will be more trains in circulation on metro lines 1 and 3, the closest to the Olympic Stadium (Espanya station) and the service, security and cleaning staff will be reinforced at the Espanya stations (L1 and L3), Poble Sec (L3), Paral·lel (L2 and L3) and Foc (L10 S).

In parallel, there will be the usual service of regular TMB buses that reach Plaza Espanya (D20, D40, H12, H16, V7, 13, 23, 46, 52, 65, 79, 91, 109, 150 and 165) and the Free Zone promenade (H16, V3, V5, 23, 109 and 125). You can also access the Olympic Ring by taxi.

A third option will be to access it by bicycle, using the current road routes. Cyclists will be able to access the mountain without restrictions up to the security perimeter.

Barcelona City Council has set up several parking areas for 3,500 motorcycles in the areas close to the stadium, which are located around Carrer de Font i Quer, Can Valero, Tarongers and Paseo del Migdia. In this way, motorcycles will be able to access these parking areas without needing accreditation and until capacity is reached.

Those people who want to travel by private vehicle through Montjuïc must take into account that from 4:00 p.m. access by car will be limited and, therefore, it will not be the most recommended means of transport to move around this area. Access to the area closest to the Olympic Stadium will be restricted and accreditation will be required to move around the Olympic Ring.

People who go to the Palau Sant Jordi by car will only be able to access and park in specially designated areas as long as they have made a prior space reservation. These reservations are limited and while supplies last, and have been made electronically through the link you received along with your ticket to the concert. They have a one-time cost in terms of management expenses and it will be the accreditation that they will have to show at the entrance to the parking area that has been assigned to them. This device will only be activated on event coincidence days.

In addition to these spaces, people attending the Palau Sant Jordi concert will also be able to use the Fira 2 car park with a base rate that will allow them to leave the car up to two hours before the event and until 11:59 p.m. on that same day. From there, they can go up to Montjuïc for free with the shuttle bus service that has been enabled on this mobility device.
