Roger Martí confesses that he himself had lived in the burned-out apartment in Valencia

The tragedy of the Valencia fire, in which ten people lost their lives, has touched Roger Martí very closely. The Valencian footballer who plays for Cádiz has confessed this Sunday that he himself lived in that block in the Campanar neighborhood and that he now rents it, despite the fact that fortunately the property was empty when the flames started.

The player spoke to Gol before the match between Cádiz and Celta at the Nuevo Mirandilla and explained that he lived for four years in the same block that suffered the deadly fire last Friday. “I had an apartment there, I lived for four years and I have many people I know. It has been a very hard time and I can imagine how the people there are. I send you a lot of strength,” he explained.

Martí played for Levante until two years ago. Currently, the property is still his property and he had rented it to a woman who was not at home at the time of the fire. “I join the pain of all the families who have lost a family member in the fire. I want to show my support and a hug to the affected neighbors,” she said in solidarity with the victims.

Roger Martí explained that he has contacted several colleagues to promote an action to raise funds for all those affected: “I would like to be able to help in some way. I have spoken with Cádiz to see how we can do it. I have already contacted quite a few colleagues to send me a t-shirt so I can do a charity raffle and everything that can be raised that goes to the people who need it.”
