Espanyol midfielder Nico Melamed has undergone successful surgery for the dislocation in his left shoulder, as reported early Wednesday by the blue and white club. “The player, following the usual plan, will begin the first part of the recovery at the Quirón Clinic. His evolution will mark his availability,” they explain in a statement.

Melamed, 22 years old, was operated on yesterday by doctors Alentorn, Cugat and Amigó at the Quirón Clinic in Barcelona, ??who carried out the surgical procedure, through arthroscopy, to solve the recurrent dislocation suffered by the footballer.

The youth player has had this discomfort in his shoulder since last season. For this reason, Nico Melamed and the leaders of the Catalan club agreed to initially opt for conservative treatment to try to solve his condition, but it has not given the expected results. For this reason, they agreed that “surgical intervention is the best solution” to solve the left shoulder problems suffered by Nico Melamed.

The footballer has played thirteen games this season, eleven of them as a starter. The youth player, with a contract until June 30, 2024, is an important piece in the Catalan squad.
