Joselu said goodbye through the social networks of Espanyol, a club to which he will be “eternally grateful” for having allowed him to achieve “the dream” of being the Zarra of LaLiga and becoming a full international. The striker goes to Real Madrid on loan for one season.
The Galician player, who last night won the League of Nations title with the Spanish team, assured that he was “exclusively focused” on being able to save Espanyol “until the last minute.”
In this sense, Joselu stressed that the objective escaped both due to “own errors” and also due to “situations that were beyond our control.”
The forward confessed that he has “a thorn in his heart” after the relegation and affirmed that he feels it “in his soul”, because he is leaving the team in the Second Division.
“I just want to tell you that it is a shared pain in the locker room and at home, in my own family,” added the player, author of 16 LaLiga goals in the 2022-23 season.
Joselu, who referred to Espanyol as a “home”, insisted that he would “always” feel like one more parrot and he was convinced that the Catalan entity will return to the First Division next season.
