The duel against Osasuna left very negative news for Barça in the form of an injury. Gavi had to retire before the break after suffering an adductor strain in his right leg. In the absence of medical tests to determine the extent of the injury, the youth squad player will have just over a week before the next game, against Espanyol, to recover.

The Barcelona midfielder suffered the discomfort very soon, but decided to continue in the game. Despite visibly limping for many minutes, it wasn’t until after Herrando’s dismissal from Osasuna that Xavi decided to make the substitution.

Before the break, Gavi retired with a crooked face and head down. In his place, Ansu Fati, Barça’s tenth, jumped onto the pitch to take his place and try to break the tie that presided over the score.

With this substitution, Barça played again with two open ends: Ansu Fati and Raphipha; and three in the middle: Busquets, De Jong and Pedri. Xavi Hernández decided to risk a more offensive strategy by playing with one more from minute 26 of the first half.
