The Portuguese star, Cristiano Ronaldo, confirmed in an interview that he will continue to wear the colors of Saudi Al-Nassr and ended the rumors that linked him to a possible loan to Newcastle United in the Premier League.

“I’m happy here, I want to stay here and I’ll stay here”, were the words of the forward to confirm his continuity in Asia for next season.

Ronaldo has had a contrasting first 6 months in Saudi Arabia. He scored 14 goals in 19 games in all competitions, but his team was runner-up in the league and lost in the cup semifinals.

In addition, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner spoke about the future of the Saudi league, which he considers capable of becoming a world power.

“I think if they keep doing the job they want to do here, the Saudi league can be one of the top five in the world in five years.”

With his future decided now, the striker will face a 2023/24 season in which Al-Nassr will seek to lift a title, with a triple opportunity in the league, cup and in the Asian Champions League.

“I was hoping to win something this year, but we didn’t, Ronaldo concluded. But next year I really trust things will be better,” concluded the Portuguese.
