Carlos Alcaraz and Daniil Medvedev will face each other in the final of the ATP 1000 tournament in Indian Wells. The Spanish tennis player will face a very important rival, but if he wins he would once again become number one in the world, a position currently held by Novak Djokovic.

Alcaraz will not have it easy. He has only faced Medvedev once and lost resoundingly 0-3. It was at the 2021 Wimbledon edition and on a completely different surface. The Spanish tennis player has improved a lot and is much better prepared to face a match of these characteristics.

The Murcian has reached the final of the American tournament after beating the Italian Jannick Sinner 2-0. Alcaraz needed to go to a tie-break in the first set, but he didn’t have too many problems in the second set.

Who did have to work hard was Medvedev. The Russian saw them and wished against Francis Tiafoe, who was playing at home. The lower level American defended very well and when Medvedev looked like he was going to win, he managed to force the tiebreaker in the second and final set. Despite Tiafoe’s efforts, the Russian tennis player won the match 2-0.

The final of the Indian Wells Master 1000 between Carlos Alcaraz and Daniil Medvedev will be held this Monday, March 19 at 00:00. The clash can be seen on television on Movistar and can also be followed live on the La Vanguardia website.
