Bucks Connaughton will have surgery to treat a hand injury

Connaughton was fouling Chris Paul late in the third quarter at Phoenix . He sustained the injury while driving to the basket. Connaughton was later diagnosed with a fourth metacarpal fracture in his right hand by the Bucks.

Mike Budenholzer, Bucks coach, stated Sunday that Connaughton will be having surgery. Budenholzer expressed his confidence that Connaughton would be available by the end of the regular-season.

Connaughton, 29 years old, is averaging 10.1 points per match this season. Connaughton, who is 6-foot-5, averages 4.4 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game. He also plays 27 minutes.

Connaughton’s injury and the deal of Donte DIVINCEnzo hamper the Bucks’ backcourt depth. On Thursday, the Bucks traded DiVincenzo from the Los Angeles Clippers to the Sacramento Kings as part of a four team trade that saw them acquire veteran center Serge Ibaka.
