FC Barcelona will play a friendly match in Dallas, United States, on December 21. The match will be against Club América from Mexico and will be played in exchange for a sum of 5 million euros.
The Catalan club did not want to waste the opportunity to make cash, and 5 million is not a low amount taking into account the current financial health of the club.
It so happens that Barça plays on the 20th, and repeats on the 21st. Once the matchday 18 of La Liga against Almería ends on December 20, the players and staff will go directly to Dallas to play the day 21, resting like this on the plane.
The game will be played at the Cotton Bowl Stadium, with a capacity of 90,000 spectators. Barça already played a match in the same stadium against Juventus in July 2022. The match ended 2-2 with two goals from Dembélé.

The club’s statement points out that “the match will also have a solidarity aspect, since part of the proceeds from the match will benefit those affected by Hurricane Otis that devastated the city of Acapulco at the beginning of November.”
