Barça completes a disastrous week losing to Fenerbahçe

Barça is not here to dream of big things based on what has been seen in the last six days, resulting in three defeats for Jasikevicius’s team, two of them in the Euroleague, and very bad feelings in the bag.

The last one, after Zaragoza and Piraeus, came this Friday in Istanbul against another rival like Fenerbahçe, but again Barça didn’t measure up when they played and reaped a new defeat that is already beginning to seriously endanger home field advantage in the playoffs. Because thinking about not entering the top eight is still out of the game.

The Barca team seems to repeat the same script in important matches. And it is none other than completing an overwhelming start and from there starting to take steps backwards until losing the game.

This also happened in the Ulker Hall, almost in the image and likeness of what happened on Tuesday against Olympiacos. He scored 30 points for Barça in the first quarter and, for example, added 26 between the next two.

That spectacular start led Jasikevicius’ men to dominate by 13-30 (minute 9) thanks to points from a Mirotic who was one of the few that was saved. Without him on the track, charged very soon with fouls, the Barça team had no answers.

From that 13-30 everything was made uphill for the Barcelona team. Wilbekin’s irruption on the parquet was like a mace but the visitors managed to go to the locker room leading the score.

Booker, with a triple, gave Fenerbahçe the first advantage (minute 23) and anticipated the curves that Barça was going to face from then until the end. The Catalans managed to reach the last five minutes with the score even, always at the hands of Mirotic, but their performance in that final stretch was once again horrendous, conceding a 14-5 to sign a new defeat and begin to look the classification with a flare of concern.
