Josep Lluís Núñez’s right-hand man, Anton Parera, accused Joan Laporta, president of FC Barcelona, ??in El Món a Rac 1 of wasting the legacy of the man who was president of Barça between 1978 and 2000. Parera claimed the legacy of former president Núñez whom he classified as a “football visionary” who revolutionized “European football structures” and assured that Laporta “is destroying psychologically, emotionally and symbolically” his legacy.
In response to those who regret that his confrontation with Johan Cruyff ended with the Dutchman leaving the club, Parera remembers that without Núñez the Cruyff myth would not have existed: “Everyone forgets that Cruyff is what he is as a Barcelona myth because Núñez “He’s going to save his head in an assembly of delegates.”
Regarding the Negreira case, Anton Parera denies any relationship with the former vice president of the referees committee. He says that he “had nothing to do with Barça nor was he paid anything” and adds that the only thing he knows about the case is “what he read in the newspapers.”
Parera argues that he left the club’s management in 1996, although at the time of the first payments to Negreira, according to the investigation, in 2001, he was Barça’s general sporting director with Joan Gaspart as president. He also doubts that there was a crime in the Negreira case. He doubts that it is done badly and believes that it is “a joke by Negreira at Barça.”
