After beating Jannik Sinner in the semifinal, Carlos Alcaraz will fight this Sunday to retain his title at the Masters 1000 in Indian Wells. On this occasion he will face the Russian Daniil Medvedev, who beat the American Tommy Paul with a score of 1-6, 7-6, 6-2.

Although at first everything indicated that Sinner had the upper hand and that he was going to win the match that would allow him to advance to the final, the Murcian tennis player managed to come back and finished victorious with a 1-6, 6-3 and 6 -2. Even with all the weather difficulties, Alcaraz knew how to react, show his best game and break the Italian athlete’s streak of 19 consecutive wins.

Alcaraz and Medvedev already competed last year in the final of the Indian Wells, a match that the Spaniard won 6-3, 6-2. That victory gave him first place in the ATP ranking and made him the best player of the moment.

In a press conference after the 2024 semifinal, Alcaraz assured that he knew “how” he has to “play with Daniil.” Despite being a tough nut to crack, the young man is clear: “I played with him many times, including the final here last year. So I know the tactics against him well, although I’m not going to tell you what it is, I I feel”.

The final can be seen on Movistar Deportes and on the ATP Tennis TV subscription channel. It can also be followed live through the La Vanguardia website.

The match, which will be played this Sunday after the women’s final, is scheduled to begin at 10:00 p.m. (peninsular time).
