A rider dies in a motorcycle race at the Circuit de Calafat, in L'Ametlla de Mar

A person died this Sunday in a motorcycle race at the Circuito de Calafat, in the municipality of L’Ametlla de Mar (Baix Ebre), reported the ‘Diari de Tarragona’ and confirmed the Mossos d’Esquadra.

The pilot would have left the track and this would have caused him to lose control of his motorcycle. The severity of the accident and the injuries caused caused the man to end up dying.

The warning took place at twelve thirty at noon. Two ambulances from the Emergency Medical System (SEM) have traveled to the circuit but have not been able to do anything to save the life of the victim, who was about 40 years old.

The Mossos have opened investigations into the fatal accident.

This weekend the ANPA Cup was being held at the Circuit de Calafat. On Friday there were training sessions and this Saturday and Sunday the races were taking place, as explained on the Tarragona circuit website.
