The organization of the Zurich Marathon Barcelona has confirmed the death of one of the participants of this 2024 edition due to a cardiorespiratory arrest just after crossing the finish line.
Through a statement sent to the media, the organization has pointed out that the runner “was attended to at that very moment by Red Cross personnel.” After that, he was transferred by the Medical Emergency Service to Hospital Clínic de Barcelona, ??where he died.
“From the organization, we convey our deepest condolences to the family and friends,” they lament, also requesting “maximum discretion and respect towards the family.”
