Spain will continue for another day under the effects of the storm Dorothea, which will begin to subside this Wednesday, although for today abundant cloudiness is still expected, significant accumulations of snow in the Pyrenees, some light rains and strong gusts of wind, according to the forecast the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet).
In the extreme north of the Peninsula and north of the Central and Iberian systems, cloudy or overcast skies and less abundant rainfall than in previous days are expected. It will rain, especially, in the eastern Cantabrian Sea. There will also be abundant cloudiness and showers in the east of the archipelago, without ruling them out in Pitiusas and Girona.
The agency foresees significant accumulations of snow in the Pyrenees in the first half of the day, without ruling out northern Iberia. In fact, it will snow at any level in the Pyrenees in the early hours, rising to 1000/1400 m at the end of the day.
The day will once again be marked by the wind. Very strong gusts are expected in large areas of the northeast quadrant of the peninsula, parts of the southeast, the Balearic Islands, Melilla and the Canary Islands. Notices have been activated in Navarra, the Valencian Community, Castilla – La Mancha, Aragon, the Balearic Islands and Catalonia. In these last two, due to gusts that could exceed 100 km/h.
According to the Aemet forecast, maximum temperatures tend to increase, except in the extreme northeast, Strait, Balearic Islands and northern Canary Islands where they will decrease. The minimums increase in the northwest and decrease in the Pyrenees and the southern half. In the rest, no major changes are expected.
Frosts are only expected in the mountains of the northern and southeastern half, the northern plateau and east of the southern plateau, weak in general, moderate Gredos and southeastern mountain ranges, and may be more intense in the Pyrenees.
