The Aemet warns of temperatures “typical of the end of June” during the weekend

The warm atmosphere will prevail during the weekend, in which some occasional showers, clear skies, tropical nights and high temperatures are expected, more “typical of the end of June”, according to the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) in its X account (formerly Twitter). 

“During the weekend we will already exceed 30 degrees in points in the northeast and in large areas of the center and south of the territory. On Sunday and Monday, in fact, 32 to 34 degrees may even be reached or exceeded,” explains the agency’s spokesperson, Rubén del Campo. 

Temperatures will rise progressively. The maximum temperatures will tend to increase this Friday in most of the Peninsula, with slight decreases in the Mediterranean area. The rise of minimum temperatures will also predominate in the Peninsula and the Balearic Islands, with few changes in the Canary Islands.

The highest values ??will be 33 degrees in Córdoba and Seville. In Badajoz, 32 are expected. In Cuidad Real they will also be above 30. Specifically, 31. 

Stable weather will dominate the weekend, with many hours of sunshine in most of the country and some showers in the extreme northwest of the peninsula on Saturday and in the extreme north of the peninsula on Sunday, according to the agency’s forecast. 

Temperatures will be especially high for the time of year, more “typical of the month of June.” On Saturday it will exceed 30 degrees in the Ebro valley, the central area and the southern half, and even 32 to 34 in the Guadalquivir valley.

On Sunday, 30 degrees could be reached in points of the Northern Plateau and more than 32 degrees in the Ebro or in part of the central area and half to the south, with 34 or more in the Tagus, Guadiana and Guadalquivir valleys.

“In fact, in the Guadalquivir Valley, cities like Seville or Córdoba could exceed 35 degrees,” the spokesperson stressed. In addition, tropical nights are expected, that is, they will not drop below 20 degrees.
