“The presence of low pressures in our environment will generate an unstable environment, with the possibility of rain and showers in the north and east of the peninsula, showers that locally could also be strong, stormy and accompanied by hail,” he explains. the agency’s spokesperson, Rubén del Campo.
For this Friday, a situation of instability is expected to persist in the north of the peninsula, with a predominance of cloudy skies and precipitation. During the afternoon there will be abundant daytime cloudiness and precipitation with the probability of being accompanied by occasional storms. They could be locally strong in Catalonia.
Temperatures will continue without major changes, if perhaps a slight rise on the peninsula, although they will continue to be cool for the time of year, reminds Aemet. 20 degrees will not be reached in large areas of the north, but it will be reached in the northeast (24 degrees in Zaragoza). In much of the Mediterranean area and the southern half, they will exceed 25.
The meteorological instability will continue during the weekend, with showers and even the formation of a DANA that will affect the north of the peninsula. Rains that could be intense are expected on Saturday in Catalonia. Weak showers are also not ruled out in the flat areas of the center.
On Sunday, it is expected that, due to the presence of a DANA, a situation of instability will persist in the northern half and eastern third of the peninsula, with a predominance of cloudy skies or with intervals. And showers accompanied by storms in the northern half, eastern third and the Balearic Islands.
As for temperatures, they will rise in general, although they will fall in the eastern third, especially on Sunday due to the greater presence of clouds. “In general, except in areas of the northern third, we will already exceed 20 degrees in almost the entire country and 25 degrees in the northeast and southern half. In the Guadiana and Guadalquivir valleys, during the weekend it will be around 28 to 30 degrees,” summarized the agency spokesperson.
