The first days of March will be marked by the entry of several fronts associated with a storm. Starting this Friday and looking ahead to the weekend, wind, precipitation, especially in the northwest, frost, snow, strong waves and a drop in temperatures are expected throughout Spain, as anticipated by the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet). .
Today it will rain in the northern third of the peninsula and the Balearic Islands, without ruling out that it will spread to other areas in a weaker way, with the snow level at 600/800 meters and significant accumulations in the Pyrenees and the Cantabrian Mountains and over 1,000 in the Balearic archipelago. .
Temperatures will tend to decrease, except in Galicia and the Cantabrian Sea where they will remain unchanged, and in the north of Aragon and Catalonia where the minimum temperatures will increase. Only weak frosts will occur in most of the interior of the northern and eastern halves of the peninsula, which will be more intense in mountain areas.
The wind will blow intensely from the west in the Peninsula and the Balearic Islands, with strong intervals and very strong gusts in the Cantabrian area, northern Galicia and around southern Catalonia and northern Valencia. In Ampurdán and the Balearic Islands also with strong intervals and very strong gusts tending to subside.
On Saturday, rainfall is expected in much of the territory. They will be more abundant in the extreme north of the peninsula, where they could be accompanied by an occasional storm with hail, and it is not ruled out that they will become strong and/or persistent in Galicia, Asturias and the Pyrenees. Weaker in Mediterranean areas and Andalusia and will not reach the extreme southeast of the peninsula.

On Sunday, a front will finish crossing the Peninsula and the Balearic Islands, leaving cloudy skies with precipitation in the early hours affecting the northeast and southeast of the peninsula, the Strait, Alboran and the Balearic Islands, where they will be accompanied by a storm. That day the maximum temperatures will tend to drop, more markedly in the eastern third of the peninsula.
