The week will begin with the dominance of the anticyclone, which will cause temperatures to rise again in the southeast of the peninsula, western Galicia, the northern plateau and the Balearic Islands, with generally high values ??for the dates. However, starting Wednesday a “change in trend” is expected in the weather, the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) advances in its forecast.

From that day on, practically widespread rainfall is expected, although with uncertainty depending on the final position of the storm. Significant accumulations are possible in northern Galicia and the Cantabrian Sea.

For the weekend, the probability of precipitation is reduced, although significant accumulations could also occur in Mediterranean areas, the agency continues in its forecast. In addition, snowfall is not ruled out in the mountains of the northern half.

Starting on Wednesday, there will also be a sharp drop in temperatures, although they will recover again over the weekend. There will be weak frosts in mountain areas.

For now, this Monday the temperatures will rise again. This increase will be greater in the southeast of the peninsula, western Galicia, the northern plateau and the Balearic Islands, with generally high values ??for the dates, although they will decrease in the Cantabrian Sea and Valencia, and also markedly in the Canary Islands. The maximum temperature of 30 degrees will be exceeded in the southeastern pre-coastal areas.

As for the minimum temperatures, they will tend to decrease in the Canary Islands and in the north and northwest of the peninsula, but they will generally increase in the rest. In Seville, for example, they will not drop below 13 degrees.

In addition, the passage of an Atlantic front will leave cloudiness and some precipitation in the Cantabrian Sea, the upper Ebro and the Pyrenees at first. Likewise, clouds of evolution will develop in the interior of the northern half, with showers accompanied by storms in the east of Galicia and the Cantabrian area moving towards the east, and with the possibility of being locally strong.

Isolated rains are also not ruled out in the Northern plateau and its mountainous environments and, more likely in the north of Catalonia.
