Pause to spring time. The entry of an isolated depression at high levels (DANA) in the Atlantic and an environment favorable to the generation of storms thanks to it will mark the day this Wednesday, registering clouds, occasional showers and a general drop in temperatures, according to the forecast of the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet).
There will be cloudy intervals and diurnal cloudiness in most areas, with the possibility of showers and storms, more likely and intense in areas of the north and center of the peninsula, which can be locally strong.
However, the agency assures that rains will be less likely in the northeast and southeast corners of the Peninsula. Some weak precipitation on the mountainous islands is also not ruled out.
The yellow warning has been activated in Cantabria, Castilla y León, the Basque Country and La Rioja due to locally strong showers and associated hail. Also due to fog in Catalonia, which will mainly affect the coasts of Barcelona and Girona.
Temperatures will drop practically across the board and sharply, even noticeably, in the maximums in the southwest quadrant. Even so, a dozen communities will be above 20 degrees.
The minimum temperatures also tend to decrease, although slight increases are expected in areas of Castilla-León. Despite this, only weak frosts will occur in the Pyrenees.
The influence of DANA will continue on Thursday and will leave the Peninsula generally cloudy in most areas, with the possibility of some showers and storms, more likely and intense in the first half of the day in the southwest of the Peninsula, which may be locally strong, and will tend to subside throughout the day.
According to the Aemet forecast, maximum temperatures will continue to decline, especially in the southeast of the peninsula and the Canary Islands, tending to increase in the western third and Catalonia. The minimum, with few changes.
