Sally Ride and Tam O’Shaughnessy, the first American woman to orbit the Earth, met as children in the 1960s. They developed an immediate connection. They fell in love years later. They were also passionate about STEM education and in 2001 founded Sally Ride Science, which focuses on equity and inclusion in science education.
