Joren Whitley, the Oklahoma chiropractor who fixes giraffes' neck problems

The neck of a giraffe can measure up to two meters in height. This is because their vertebrae are quite elongated compared to those of other living beings, and can reach 28 centimeters in length. Many times, these animals can have a lot of problems due to the great weight they have to support.

This is what the Fox19 website has published. On a farm in Oklahoma, United States, Gerry the giraffe had problems with his jaw. According to her owner, she could not move her to the left. However, she didn’t look like she was in pain. She also called Dr. Joren Whitley, a chiropractic expert, so he could solve her problem.

Dr. Whitley, in addition to treating people, also practices on animals, for which he has become famous on TikTok. He uploads videos in which he shows how he works with animals, and the video of him with Gerry the giraffe already has more than 500,000 views.

Dr. Whitley is aware that giraffes can be aggressive, and in the title of the video he commented: “Although very friendly, this giraffe could become defensive and use its small bones against me at any time. That’s why I take my adjustments calmly and delicately.”

After having made the adjustments to Gerry, Joren Whitley spoke to Fox19 to affirm that his treatment had been to the giraffe’s liking: “He loved it. He rubbed me all over. “He licked me everywhere.”

Gerry has been with his owner for five years, since in the state of Oklahoma it is legal to own a giraffe. He lived in a natural park in Texas and his mother rejected him when he was only two months old, in statements that the woman made to The Washington Post newspaper.
