Ermias Kbreab, a professor and associate dean of global involvement at the University of California Davis College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, is a Professor. He is also director of the UC Davis World Food Center.
Kebreab contributed to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change 2019 Update on livestock-related emission. He also chaired a Food and Agricultural Organization of the United Nations task force on feed additives and Methane. Over 250 scientific articles have been published on climate impacts of livestock.
Kebreab was born in Eritrea, and received his bachelor’s degree at the University of Asmara. He earned his PhD in ecological modeling at the University of Reading. He was the editor of many books about agriculture and animal nutrition.
