The Canary Islands are experiencing their second summer of the year. The high temperatures at this abnormal start to October have caused many tourists and residents to once again fill the beaches of the archipelago. This has also been the case of the Las Canteras de Las Palmas sandy area, which last weekend appeared crowded as if it were the months of July and August.

But, according to the local newspaper La Provincia, bathers have found a surprise: the presence of baby hammerhead sharks, one specimen belongs to the Sphyrnidae family and is harmless to humans.

Upon noticing their presence, some users like Sarah Cabrera recorded several videos and published them on social networks, asking other bathers to respect the animals.

According to this medium, the presence of this shark is normal in the island sands, because it lives in the temperate and tropical waters of the world, including the Canary Islands.

It is not the first episode of a sighting of a specimen of this type. According to this media, a few months ago the presence of a two-meter adult hammerhead shark forced the closure of swimming on Patalavaca beach (Las Palmas) as a precaution.
