The general secretary of the PSPV-PSOE, Ximo Puig, advocates that the person chosen to lead its formation be the one who generates the most consensus and is surrounded by a “powerful team” to “show that the PSPV is going to win in the elections.” elections in 2027 to improve Valencian society”.
This is how Puig has spoken about the internal renewal process in which the PSPV is immersed, when asked about it at the convention that the PSOE is holding this weekend in A Coruña, an event attended by the Valencian socialists.
As he has defended, his is the most democratic Valencian party, “since it has historically demonstrated this with open primaries, with the militants themselves.”
In his opinion, the fundamental thing is that his formation knows that it has “a great responsibility”, and this is to “offer a powerful political alternative to the Valencians against the most reactionary government in the history of our self-government.”
“That is the fundamental mission, the response for Valencian society,” said Puig, who has insisted that PSPV must continue to be “open, Valencian, social democratic and seek the best response for citizens, because that is why it has existed.” and there is the PSPV”.
Regarding the election of the person who will lead the PSPV-PSOE from now on, he believes that “in the end, it will be the militants who are going to decide.”
“I would like the militants not to lose perspective of what is important -in the PSPV-, which is to adequately represent Valencian society and see which person can generate the most consensus and, above all, a powerful team to show that the PSPV is going to win in the 2027 elections to improve Valencian society,” he concluded.
