PRINCETON – Police are investigating after a woman reported she was sexually touched by an Uber driver during a trip from Pennsylvania to Princeton last week, police said.

The 21-year-old New York woman called from Olden Street around 11:45 p.m. on Saturday to report the incident, Princeton police said.

The woman told police that she had taken the ride service to visit her friend in Princeton and the driver of the Uber inappropriately touched her at some point during the trip. Police did not know whether the alleged touching happened in Princeton.

The woman called police after she got out of the car, police said. Officers have not  yet identified or charged the driver.

A spokeswoman from Uber said that the driver has been banned from using the app or driving for the company pending the police investigation.

She added that, if true, the allegations against the driver are in clear violation of Uber’s policies and guidelines.
