Two national police officers who appear as “injured” in the Democratic Tsunami case that is being investigated in the National Court have asked the State to compensate them as victims of terrorism.
This is stated in a letter, to which Europa Press has had access, that the General Subdirectorate of Aid to Victims of Terrorism of the Ministry of the Interior has sent to the central court of investigation 6 in which it explains that in order to process these requests for compensation and respond For both police officers, “a prior judicial ruling is essential.”
For this reason, said Subdirectorate asks Judge Manuel García Castellón – in charge of the investigation of the case – to inform him “of the resolution adopted in the judicial procedure on the classification of the facts investigated as constituting or not constituting acts of a terrorist and his prosecution for such character.”
In a ruling, to which this news agency has also had access, the head of the court responds that “the present procedure is being followed for the alleged crime of terrorism and is currently in the investigation phase.”
Thus, the judge points out that he will inform said Subdirectorate “of the resolution that may be issued at the end of the investigation and, where appropriate, the elevation for prosecution to the corresponding Criminal Chamber.”
