Ten seasons already. Tu cara me suena has established itself as the most popular talent contest on the Spanish scene: after nine editions, it maintains an average of more than 20% screen share. From Friday he returns to Antena 3 and to commemorate his ten editions he will start the course with a spectacular street exhibition in which contestants from previous seasons will participate.

“It’s television on a grand scale, a show with a lot of magnetism and humor that is still the audience’s favorite ten years later and that doesn’t always happen”, emphasized Carmen Ferreiro, director of entertainment programs at Atresmedia TV, during the presentation yesterday Tuesday of the new season.

Tu cara me suena was one of Antena 3’s big bets “which had a certain risk” because the idea was original and had not been tried anywhere else, “but now we are proud to say that it has exported to 49 countries”, continued Ferreiro, who highlighted Manel Fuentes’ role as conductor: “There is nothing that he does not enjoy; he is a great game distributor”, he praised him, as did the jury made up of Carlos Latre, Lolita, Àngel Llàcer and Chenoa, and “his great complicity”.

“We have already done 10 years and we will do 10 more”, warned Tinet Rubira, general director of Gestmusic, who considers this program to be a gift because after participating in it “everyone does better”. As always, he said, the great novelty of the season is “the casting”, which this year is made up of Alfred García, Anne Igartiburu, Agustín Jiménez, Jadel, Merche, Miriam Rodríguez, Josie, Andrea Guasch and Susi Caramelo.

Rubira, in addition to revealing that this year thanks to the button to bring a friend “more friends have come than ever”, highlighted as the main novelty that there is a “Duel” box with which two contestants will be played by the same artist, although in different eras and with different songs and characterizations. “And in some cases we will see a somewhat unbalanced and even cruel duel”, he said.

Manel Fuentes gave way to the new contestants to express their opinion of the experience. So, Agustín Jiménez joked that he is already taking a look at new horizons and is “watching Eurovision”; Anne Igartiburu said that she had felt “very comfortable and very protected”; and Josie stated that it was like having been “to 16 weddings” in reference to this season’s editions.

Andrea Guasch said that she already wanted to “post things on Instagram” from the premiere of the program and Alfred commented that imitating the greats of music thanks to the program had been a “childhood dream come true”. For her part, Miriam Rodríguez acknowledged “having learned a lot from her colleagues”.

Among the members of the jury, Carlos Latre assured that this edition “is very talented in all aspects; we are privileged to experience from row zero an inimitable show, never better said”. For Lolita, the key is that people get that everything that happens in the program is for real: “When you don’t sell any cheats, it goes through”.
