The PP’s call for the rebellion of socialist deputies uncomfortable with their party’s negotiations with the pro-independence parties for the investiture of Pedro Sánchez, in exchange for an amnesty for those involved in the process, appears to remain until to the same investiture debate that Alberto Núñez Feijóo will undergo starting this Tuesday.
Yesterday, on the occasion of the renewal of the executive board of the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP), the PP launched this appeal again, to which the socialists responded with accusations of promoting “transfugism” and the “corruption”.
It was the spokeswoman of the PP in Congress, Cuca Gamarra, when she was asked about whether they expect to get the four votes that Feijóo needs to be invested among the ranks of the PSOE, who pointed out that “there is still time for the PSOE to have carry out an internal debate, if Pedro Sánchez allows it”. Gamarra criticized the submission of the PSOE to Sánchez, which allows him to impose “a series of issues that seem to be immovable”, although “nothing is immovable” and “they can still reflect”, he encouraged.
In this sense, the leader urged the socialist deputies to consider whether “they are ready to deliver what Carles Puigdemont and Oriol Junqueras are asking of them”, which she identified with “equality between Spaniards”, and to accept that “democracy does not it has existed, it hasn’t worked all this time and it didn’t work when the coup d’état was attempted in 2017”.
Gamarra delved into the criticism that the socialist old guard is pouring these days against the negotiations on a possible amnesty, to justify the disobedience of the socialist parliamentarians in favor of Feijóo’s investiture. If “there are many voices within [socialism] that during the last few weeks are taking a position and are raising their voice, they can also raise it internally in the PSOE and make them not take this step that they will undoubtedly regret”, he confided .
But at the moment, none of the internal criticisms that have been raised against Sánchez come from the current socialist cadres and, on the contrary, this week there have been words of censure among the parliamentary group of the PP against the strategy of his leader Criticism of the “erratic” line of the PP since 23-J that has emerged as a result of the debate on the use of official languages ??in the Congress of Deputies.
While these appeals to disobedience do not find a response within the socialist group, its current leaders yesterday demanded that the PP stop its “calls for corruption and immigration”. The spokeswoman for the central government and acting minister of Territorial Policy, Isabel Rodríguez, regretted that Feijóo has “reduced his aspirations for this investiture to calling for the tamayazo (…), a fact classified as corruption”, she warn.
