The re-elected President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, already has a new Government. During this morning the names that will make up the new coalition Executive of PSOE and Sumar have been known, and that Sánchez will officially announce at noon. It is made up of 22 ministers, 12 of whom are women. There are 17 portfolios occupied by socialists and 5, by the formation led by Yolanda Díaz.
These are the names and portfolios of the new Council of Ministers, who will be sworn in this Monday and will take office tomorrow, Tuesday:
The first vice president of the Government of Pedro Sánchez repeats her position after the previous legislature. Nadia Calviño, also Minister of Economic Affairs in this and one of the six everlasting socialists in the Government, is still awaiting the next steps of her candidacy to direct the European Investment Bank (EIB).
Yolanda Díaz, the leader of Sumar, also repeats as Second Vice President and Minister of Labor. Among the challenges announced for this new legislature is the reduction of the working day, a new workers’ statute and a tax reform.
Teresa Ribera also repeats as Third Vice President and Minister of Ecological Transition. Ribera occupies another of the portfolios that has not changed the person in charge in all the Sánchez governments.
The Ministry of Finance and Public Function continues to be headed by Maria Jesús Montero, again also the fourth vice president of the executive. In Sánchez’s first government, Montero was spokesperson.
Félix Bolaños has become part of Sánchez’s hard core this legislature with a super ministry: Presidency, Justice and Relations with the courts. The 47-year-old Madrid lawyer was the promoter of the Amnesty law.
The continuity of some of the ministers in question has surprised, such as that of Fernando Grande-Marlaska, at the head of the Ministry of the Interior, about whom the pools placed more outside than inside the new government as a consequence of the successive crises that have affected his portfolio, with powers in immigration and asylum matters.
Margarita Robles also keeps her wallet. Robles maintains the Ministry of Defense after a term marked by the wars in Ukraine and Gaza.

The general secretary of the PSOE of the Canary Islands and former president of the community from 2019 to 2023, Ángel Víctor Torres, is the new Minister of Territorial Policy and Democratic Memory of the Sánchez Government.
The leader of Más Madrid, Mónica García, has won the Health portfolio. García became known in social circles in 2013, within the Association of Medical Specialists of Madrid, which ended up leading the White Tide in opposition to the privatization project of six public hospitals in Madrid.

Elma Saiz will leave the Ministry of the Treasury of Navarra to be Minister of Social Security. A university professor, she was also a Government delegate in Navarra between 2008 and 2012 and has been a councilor in the Pamplona City Council for a brief period, from June 2019 to August 2019.
Where there have been no surprises has been in the appointment of Ernest Urtasun. The MEP will assume the Culture portfolio, without the Sports appendix, which until now was headed by the president of the PSC, Miquel Iceta.

The big unknown was in the Ministry of Equality: Ana Redondo García, a member of the PSOE, will replace Irene Montero (Vamos) as head of the portfolio in the new Government of Pedro Sánchez. The former secretary of Podemos International, Pablo Bustinduy, left politics in 2019 troubled by the breakup between Pablo Iglesias and Íñigo Errejón.
