Since the TV2 programme ‘the Settlers’ rolled across the screen in the spring of 2017, was Cecilie and Jonas Handberg among the participants.
Unfortunately for the pair, they won the house in Gistrup outside Aalborg, but they had an experience of a lifetime. Tv-participation, however, was not the only big event for the pair this year, when, in the summer of 2017 were married.
the Pair also had a dream to have a child together, but it turned out that it was easier said than done. Two years ended up having to go, but in January of this year came the little Charlie into the world – a month ahead of time.

Now is soon as the first year as parents gone, and there is no doubt that the 31-year-old Cecilie and 30-year-old Jonas is enjoying the new role. The past year has not only been marked by babylykke, as ‘Settlers’-the couple back in June took a big decision and bought an estate in Dragør.
– There is no doubt that there’s really much has happened the past year. Besides enjoying the time with Charlie, we also had time in the big renovation. It was not the plan that we would move in the house right now, but then rose to my apartment, we started to look, and so in love that we us in the city of in the country. We have, however, found out how hard it is to renovate compared to build new, as we did in ‘the Settlers’, says Cecilie to Ekstra Bladet.
It is a bit of a husprojekt, Cecilie and Jonas has thrown himself in. Private.
– Once you begin to move up in something that is 60 years old, so you know never what you will find. So is there a leaking water pipe, a warped floor or moisture from a roof. It is 1000 times harder, it we is in now, than when we were in ‘the Settlers’.
– of course This has also something to do with the fact that at the same time we have a child and a full-time job, but in addition it is also earnest, while ‘Settlers’ were just for fun. Cecilie, Jonas and Charlie have lived in the house in Dragør, since they bought it, but it certainly has been hard work to get it all to play. There is no doubt, however, that they feel it is worth it all.
– To find out during such a game, how nice it is to have water in a kitchen, when a piece of time have lived without. We knew it was a big project, so we were quite set on it. We love it, and we will stay here until we are old, ” explains Cecile.
It is not difficult to understand that, Cecilie and Jonas fell in love with the cosy Dragør. Here is their fine house. Private.
– We probably would have had the courage to throw ourselves into the project no matter what, but ‘the Settlers’ have done, that we have tried to live in byggerod and know what each other is good for in such a process, and that we are tough to make a good craft. It is always easier the second time, continues Cecilie, which stipulates that the couple is just so cool to be parents:
– It goes so well with the family, but of course it probably helps also on it, that we’ve got a game easy, and sweet child, who mostly sleeps at night.
– We have shared barslen half/half, so right now the going Jonas at home, and it’s really cool. We have got Charlie together, and we can both give something, ” explains Cecilie, who dream of another child in the near future.
– I will probably more than Jonas, just at present, as I do not want to be an old jar. Jonas seems that we have plenty in the a right now, so he seems well, we can wait a little bit more. Because it took two years to get Charlie, I probably just don’t want to wait too many years, if it takes takes time again, but now we must see what the future shows.

unfortunately, it seems that everything runs on the rails of the Cecilie and Jonas with the dream house and wish child. Back in the fall so everything however is not quite so rosy out.
I had surgery in the palate, because I had a rise, as the doctors were concerned as to whether it was malignant. So I was just through a week in the cancer bundle, general anesthesia and operation. It was really hard, because we were fucking worried, but fortunately it went really well, as the stand was benign, she says relieved.
– Therefore, we welcome the extra very pleased that we have it so good in the moment, she continues and adds that though the couple enjoyed to be with in ‘the Settlers’, they rejoice ” over the fact that they are not in the same degree will be recognized on the street anymore:
– It is nice that we are just ‘us’ now, rather than Cecilie and Jonas from ‘the Settlers’. It does not mean, however, that we are dismissive in relation to to appear in more tv in the future.
– We actually had recently applied to participate in a new DR program, which is about the families, who have bought house and need to renovate without any special technical prerequisites. It thought I gave good sense, too, because it was ‘real’, while the ‘Settlers’ more just ‘play’. So I would like to show how it was, when it was completely genuine. But we came not because we had participated in ‘the Settlers’, she explains.

Both Cecilie and Jonas are working on a daily basis at the Husum School, but in the future hope Cecilie to be able to change the secure job as teacher out and instead living out of his hobby – drawing.
