The PSOE of Madrid has traveled to Brussels to convey to the community bodies the “cutting of rights” that the president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, wants to carry out in the region with the modifications of the LGTBI and Trans regional laws , reports EP.

The LGTBI secretary of the Community of Madrid and regional deputy in the Assembly, Santi Rivero, together with the LGTBI secretary of the PSOE, Víctor Gutiérrez, will convey the modifications that the regional government intends to make to the regional regulations to parliamentarians and European organizations, states the party in a statement.

Firstly, they will hold a meeting with the team of Iratxe Rodríguez, president of the PES and Spanish MEP in the European Parliament. Subsequently, they will meet with representatives of ILGA, an LGTBI organization that brings together LGBTI associations at an international level.

Specifically, with Cianán B. Russell and Katrin Hugendubel, where they will ask that they maintain an “important role as observers of the preservation” of LGTBI rights in Madrid.

Finally, they will convey to Mark Angel, vice president of the European Parliament and President of the chamber’s LGTBI Intergroup, the cuts that Ayuso intends to carry out in the region.

“One of the pillars of the European Union is respect for human rights and, therefore, for the LGTBI people who live in it. And that is why we want to transfer the first cut of LGTBI rights in Spanish democracy to their maximum guarantors,” Rivero remarked.

Likewise, he has insisted that it cannot be allowed in Madrid to “pathologize trans people again or leave our children and adolescents unprotected in educational centers.” “We will fight until the end to stop this setback that is not worthy of an open, diverse and respectful Madrid,” Santi Rivero warned.
