Malaga singer-songwriter Pablo Alborán was in charge of closing last night the second edition of the Occident Summerfest Cerdanya, which has been held since last year in a natural setting in Puigcerdà. Organized by the Clipper’s Group, also responsible for the Cap Roig, Cambrils or Les Nits de Barcelona festivals at the Pedralbes palace, the Summerfest started in 2022 with a first edition that achieved high occupancy and which meant the materialization of a project in what, explains the president of Clipper’s, Juli Guiu, “we have been working with great enthusiasm for some time and we have finally been able to make it a reality”. Now for the second edition of the Cerdanya festival, there have been 16,456 attendees in a total of 10 concerts, three of which have posted the poster of all the tickets sold: God Save The Queen, Rosario and Taburete, which means, in assessment de Guiu, which is consolidating itself as a festival and as a reference cultural offer in the area.

In this sense, the meeting in Puigcerdà, in which Pablo López, Els Amics de les Arts, Ara Malikian, David Bisbal, Dàmaris Gelabert or Miki Núñez have performed this year, has had the Village space, where before and after the concerts the public has been able to enjoy design and the performing arts with festive shows. Guiu was “very satisfied with the reception that the festival has experienced this year” and explains that they are already working to “ensure that the Occident Summerfest continues to be the meeting place for the people of the area in the next editions “.

The manager of Clipper’s has taken advantage of the balance of Summerfest Cerdanya to evaluate this summer’s festival season for his group: “The result has exceeded all our expectations. Not only have we managed to maintain an exceptional standard of quality at each of our festivals, but we have also witnessed a great response from the public. In total, we counted 160,000 attendees at our five festivals this summer.” It is the result of adding to the audience of Puigcerdà the 38,000 attendees – 81% occupancy – at the Les Nits de Barcelona festival in the gardens of the Pedralbes Palace; the 16,413 spectators of the Cambrils International Music Festival; the 35,000 achieved by the White Summer Festival, which opened a new location this year in Palamós, and the 53,025 attendees at the Cap Roig Festival, which achieved a very high occupancy rate of 94%.
