– It can be a way to mock or humiliate a woman, because the man shows his power, and she can’t really resist or say no to the picture, before it suddenly is there, he says.
According to the gender researcher is the so-called dickpics a widespread phenomenon. Many women experience to receive the cross-border pictures, and it is in particular men who are the senders.

A survey conducted by the Institute for human Rights at the last general election also shows that 21 percent of the respondents are female he has seen digital, of sexual harassment.
Christian Groes compares the senders of dickpics with a modern form of flashing, which operates with a digital distance to their victim, and when it goes out over a public known person such as a politician, there can be strong emotions behind.
– It (dickpics, red.) is a short-term reaction to a form of anger or dissatisfaction with a politician, and there are men, who sometimes build a special kind of anger towards female politicians, as they do not build against men, says Christian Groes.
He explains that it is very rare case of outright flirt, when the male sender and a female receiver do not know each other.
– There may be a few men who use it as a form of flirting and hope to get a picture or a message back, but it is typically men, who have incredibly poor judgement and doesn’t have much experience with women. And then it will typically not be random women they send to.
– In fact, it’s probably best that the men who make it, is some little paltry existences, which are poor in words or may not show its power on another show, he says.
