The Madrid town of Valdepiélagos has already elected its mayor two months before 28M

Pedro José Cabrera, mayor of Valdepiélagos since 2019, once again heads the Independent Candidacy of Valdepiélagos that yesterday Saturday the residents made in primaries and will continue to be a councilor after the municipal elections on May 28, since the voters support the list that they themselves design and to which no party presents an alternative.

During Saturday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., all the residents of legal age were able to vote at the Valdepiélagos Cultural Center for the seven names -among all the inhabitants of the town, also of legal age- who want form their local government, reports Efe.

With 163 votes, Pedro Cabrera will once again lead the local executive with the team of councilors that the residents have also chosen, as reported by the municipality, once the count is finished.

Since the beginning of the democratic period, the census takers of this town of some 600 residents in the north of the Community of Madrid vote two months before the municipal elections for the seven residents who want to be represented and who will work for free, voluntarily, in the different areas of government.

In this way, without anticipating that there will be another candidacy for the elections on May 28 (PP and PSOE have never presented themselves, respecting the system of the neighbors), Cabrera will continue working on the actions that he has been carrying out for four years.

In this period, his government has achieved, among other things, that half of the residents participate in the composting system that they have implemented with the aim that all the waste generated in the town is transformed into fertilizer and remains in the municipality. .
