The Generalitat asks the Government to solve the "intolerable chaos" of Rodalies

The Government has described as “intolerable” the widespread incidents that are occurring this Sunday in the Renfe Rodalies service, due to the theft of copper, which may “affect” the right to vote of Catalans in the regional elections this 12 of May.

In an appearance to report on the start of election day, the vice president of the Government, Laura Vilagrà, thus asked the Minister of Transport, Óscar Puente, to “restore” normality “as soon as possible” in the railway service, after the “ “intolerable and unacceptable” chaos today, while urging him to apologize to citizens.

Election day has started normally with the constitution of the polling stations and the opening of the polling stations, since no notable incidents have been recorded beyond some specific delays.

Vilagrà has criticized that incidents occur in the service “every day”, and more so on a day like today, which can affect the “right to participate” of citizens in these elections. “It is intolerable and unacceptable,” the vice president insisted.

Aside from the situation in the railway service, the vice president of the Government reported that the polling stations had opened normally, with “unremarkable” incidents, beyond “small delays.”

In the school located at the University of Barcelona, ??which opened about 15 minutes late, the pro-Palestinian camp continues, which takes place normally without hindering the voting and without any political proclamations that refer to the conflict, so it is not He hopes that the Mossos d’Esquadra will proceed to evict the activists.

The spokesperson for the Catalan executive, Patrícia Plaja, who appeared alongside Vilagrà, reported that this polling station of the University of Barcelona is made up of 12 tables, which “work completely normally.”

For these elections, a total of 8,940 tables have been set up in the 2,695 polling stations set up throughout the Catalan territory.

To this end, some 80,000 people have been mobilized, as holders or substitutes of these voting points to allow the good evolution of election day.

Vilagrà and Plaja began their appearance by thanking these people who set up the polling station tables, as well as the police officers deployed to guarantee the proper functioning of the day.
