The Court confirms the acquittal of a PPC leader accused of mistreatment

The Provincial Court of Barcelona has confirmed the acquittal in the first instance of the former deputy secretary of communication of the PP in Catalonia, Albert Fernández Saltiveri, denounced by his ex-wife and current president of New Generations (NNGG), Irene Pardo, for gender violence, coercion, insults and mistreatment according to the sentence announced this Tuesday by The Objective and to which La Vanguardia has had access.

The court, made up of three judges, has rejected the appeal presented by the complainant and has unanimously confirmed in its entirety the acquittal sentence handed down on July 20 by Criminal Court number 10 of Barcelona.

In that ruling in the first instance, the judge considered that the reported facts could not be proven and that in the oral trial there was the word of one person against the other.

Saltiveri was removed from all his organic responsibilities in the Catalan PP in March 2021 and an information file was opened against him by the party’s Rights and Guarantees Committee. Now the Catalan PP has restored him as a member of the Executive Committee immediately.
