The Spanish bishops reminded the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, on Wednesday, these days on a media tour, that he has not responded to the request for an interview made by Cope in the framework of the electoral campaign on July 23.

The secretary general and spokesman of the Spanish Episcopal Conference (CEE), César García Magán, pointed out at the press conference after the meeting of the permanent commission of the governing body of the Church in Spain that the head of the central Executive “does not has responded” to the invitation of the bishops’ radio station.

“Cope does not have a problem with the president, the president has it with the Cope Group. He has been invited to participate and he has not responded to that invitation. He is free to accept it or not ”, García Magán highlighted, after the meeting of the permanent, which, among other issues, has dealt with the situation of the aforementioned media group.

It so happens that Sánchez has participated in several interviews in recent days, some in places where he has been criticized in recent years. Yesterday he himself was on El Hormiguero, on Antena 3, last weekend he was interviewed by Jordi Évole and also last week he met Carlos Alsina on Onda Cero. In addition, during the interview with Évole, the President of the Government offered to go to the set of Ana Rosa Quintana.

Thus, according to the spokesman for the Spanish bishops, it must be each media outlet that “responds” to the criticisms that President Sánchez makes of what he calls “the media right”, in which the socialists include the bishops’ radio station and the program led by Carlos Herrera, openly critical of Pedro Sánchez.
