When, perhaps thirty years from now, Macarena Gómez (Córdoba, 1978) consults her old photos and calendars sitting by the fireplace, she will remember that the year 2023 was – possibly – the best autumn of her life . He has just released the comedy Desmadre, which he also produces, and in October the international production Deep fear and the second season of 30 monedas, directed by Álex de la Iglesia and the most watched series on HBO Max in 2021, will hit Tabula rasa screens .

She is particularly satisfied with Desmadre incluido: “A group of people gets locked in a hotel and a series of entanglements between the characters, entanglements and comical situations occur. It’s a film that was really made with very little money and in three weeks, with a script finished two weeks before shooting began and I think it’s very worthy”. Her adventure as a producer – she also put out of her own pocket for Tabula Rasa – has made her feel new emotions, some not very comfortable. “Today I just finished filming as an actress and the next hour I start organizing production things in another project. Do you know what it is to coordinate the voice dubbing of the actors? There is no way to get actor, director and sound producer to match on the same day!” Why does an established actress decide to risk money and peace of mind by becoming a producer? “I’ve been in the business for twenty-four years, I’ve worked with great directors and I’ve done practically everything with projects written, produced and directed by others. So one day I said to myself ‘well now I’ll produce what I like, I’ll give myself the roles I like to play and I’ll do the stories I want to tell’. In life you have to try things. If things go wrong, you give yourself a hard time, but you learn from mistakes and you recover: at least this is my theory of life, a little like my husband’s”.

Ten years ago he united his life with that of the prolific artist Aldo Comas (painter, singer, entrepreneur, occasional actor, risk athlete and creator of unthinkable looks on the red carpet) arriving at the church above the guests. You read that right: Macarena and Aldo parachuted from the sky to say “Yes, I want it”: “When they ask me about these things, I already see them as normal… With Aldo I have normalized the extraordinary . I have a lot of fun with him.” The couple, who live in a small town in , have an eight-year-old son who may not be very aware of his parents’ uniqueness for the same reason. “Everyone in the village knows us; they don’t treat us like people who appear on TV, but like the neighbor from the fifth floor. And my son has a lot of that… that’s the word, normalized.”

Macarena Gómez lives triangulating: from her home in Girona to Madrid, where the vast majority of her work is done, and from the Villa y Corte in her childhood. “I go down to Córdoba very often: when I’m in Madrid, I drop by to eat lentils with my mother. Or clams And since the mother, whose name is Carmen Traseira, does aesthetic medicine, I take the opportunity to put on my hyaluronic acid, my treatments… I say it openly. And in fact, if I didn’t take advantage of it, I’d be a fool.”

With Deep fear Macarena returns to horror – a genre in which she debuted with Dagon and which she continues to enjoy as a little girl – and with 30 coins, again at the behest of Álex de la Iglesia: “If the first season is already impact, the second is something superlative. I have not succeeded in anything that I imagined for my character; it’s an overflowing script”.
