A new edition of 080 Barcelona Fashion, more innovative and with a clear focus on sustainability, arrives on October 24 at the modernist site of Sant Pau. The general director of Commerce, Jordi Torrades Aladren; the director general of the Consorci de Comerç, Artesania i Moda de Catalunya (CCAM), Agnès Russiñol Amat, and the director of the Fashion Area and project manager of 080 Barcelona Fashion, Marta Coca Ortiga, presented yesterday at the hotel The Hoxton de Barcelona all the news of this 32nd edition.

“We want to take another step towards the internationalization of Barcelona and its industry”, introduced Marta Coca as a starting point about the primary objective of the Catalan gateway. But beyond this mission, the director of the Fashion Area of ??080 Barcelona Fashion has detailed that the conferences innovate this edition with the exploration of fashion creation through its link with other disciplines.

So, this year digital art becomes the protagonist of Barcelona Fashion Week and it is precisely through this discipline that the organization wants to help the participating brands to adapt to society, their way of consuming and its relationship with technology. The Moco Museum, one of the sponsors of this edition, will install five NFTs by Argentine artist Pilar Zeta for the occasion and the famous studio Misato will make an important foray into the conference with the presentation of a digital work.

“In the Open Area of ??the venue you can enjoy a digital artistic creation by Andrei Warren of Misato Studios”, adds Coca. This digital artist has become, with his studio of Serbian origin established in Barcelona, ??a world reference in the field of 3D creation, and has collaborated with firms such as Mugler, Converse and Oysho, among others .

Fashion today cannot be understood without its commitment to sustainability and responsible consumption. With the aim of promoting this vision, the Catalan walkway has developed a project open to the public called 080 Reborn. The reuse of denim and upcycling as an artistic expression to give new life to one of the most polluting fabrics during the manufacturing process will be explored.

In addition to the artistic circuit that 080 Barcelona Fashion offers this year, the organizers made special mention of the great attraction of the conference: the catwalk. The innovation is mentioned in a poster enriched with new names from the industry and others already known that join the next edition. This is the case of Le Machet, Cherry Massia and Carlota Barrera, which has already captivated the London catwalk, Como la Trucha al Trucho, which for the first time departs from swimwear fashion, and Syndical Chamber, a firm that challenges social archetypes and rethinks the wardrobes of new generations.

Beyond the up-and-coming names, this catwalk doesn’t forget its heavyweights. Custo Barcelona, ??Simorra, Lebor Gabala, Lola Casademunt by Maite, Guillermina Baeza and All That She Loves represent the craftsmanship of the Catalan industry and its great international projection.

The list is completed by well-known names such as that of Gala González, who will present the novelty of Amlul, Dominnico, Eñaut, Escorpion, Habey Club, Natahlie Chander, One Real World, Outsiders Division, Paolo Leduc, The Artelier and The Label edition.
