Kara (Melissa Benoist) and J’onn (David Harewood) team up to rescue Jeremiah (Dean Cain) from Cadmus in a new sneak peek from Season 2, episode 14 of “Supergirl.”
In the 30-second clip, the alien duo tries to stop a convoy of vehicles believed to be carrying Jeremiah. The Girl of Steel uses her heat vision to halt the truck and the three SUVs surrounding it. When her plan doesn’t work, Kara asks J’onn, a.k.a. Martian Manhunter, to cover her as she tries to detach the trailer from the truck tractor.
While the sneak peek doesn’t show the complete rescue mission, the trailer for the episode reveals that Kara and J’onn are successful in rescuing the Danvers patriarch. However, Jeremiah’s sudden return divides Kara and Alex (Chyler Leigh).
“Immediately, it’s just a joyous occasion that I think blinds them to a threat there because he was gone for so long that they don’t know what happened to him while he was with Cadmus, so there’s conflict,” Benoist recently told Entertainment Weekly. “One of them is adamant that he’s innocent, and that he wouldn’t do anything to hurt anyone. The other is more suspicious, so there’s some butting heads.”
As seen in the trailer, Mon-El (Chris Wood) tells Kara that Winn (Jeremy Jordan) discovered something about Jeremiah that she should be worried about.
“Mon-El is more suspicious about Jeremiah coming back, and that pushes Kara into going, ‘OK, he raises some questions,’” Leigh said. “Kara says, ‘Maybe we need to vet this out a little more before diving straight in,’ but Alex is like no holds barred, she’s like, ‘No, dad’s back, this is it, family is family, ride or die.’ It does divide them a bit because Alex believes so wholeheartedly that he’s completely innocent and just wants to be a part of things.”
“Supergirl” Season 2, episode 14, titled “Homecoming,” airs on Monday, Feb. 27 at 8 p.m. EST on The CW.
