Sant Jordi (with Hemingway) in 'La Vanguardia'

It is difficult for everyone to arrive on time for a meeting to which twenty-seven people have been summoned. But it is even more complicated that the first to arrive is the one that comes directly from Brussels. Correspondent Beatriz Navarro took a flight on Friday to go to the traditional photograph of authors and columnists of La Vanguardia, which this year was held at Turó Park. Most of them brought their books, in case Mané Espinosa, the photographer chosen for this noble task, asked for it. Not all of them took it out. But who was about to make his appearance, even though he backed out at the last minute, was another journalist, but not from this newspaper: Ernest Hemingway himself.

In the absence of his book, David Castillo brought a copy of The old man and the sea, which was a topic of conversation among those present.
