Anyone who has run a marathon knows how demanding this test is, the queen of athletic disciplines. Salvador Illa has done it today for the second time. The leader of the Catalan socialists has completed this sunny Sunday in Barcelona the 42.195 km, which is the mythical distance that separates the Marathon from Athens. And he has done it in a time of 3 hours, 42 minutes and 35 seconds, his personal best.

Illa has managed to reach position 3,659 out of a total of 15,127 registered runners. In his category, that of those over 55 years of age, the head of the opposition to the Government of Pere Aragonès was ranked 136th, a commendable ranking. At a pace of 5 minutes and 16 seconds per kilometer, he has improved his mark in the competition by almost seven minutes, which he had set in Valencia last December in 3 hours, 49 minutes and 1 second.

It is the second time that Illa, who was in Madrid yesterday on the PSOE federal committee, has participated in a marathon, a test that, as she said last Friday in RTVE’s El cafè d’idees, allows her, in addition to taking care of the health, strengthen your mental resistance, since it is a sacrifice for which considerable discipline is required, beyond physical preparation.
